Required Exams

Praxis Core/ACT

  • To be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) teacher candidates WITHOUT an ACT composite score of 21 or a combined SAT score of 1020, must retake the ACT/SAT and earn the required score OR pass all three subtests of the Praxis Core exam.
    • An ACT Superscore of 21 will also be accepted. Superscoring is the process of averaging your four best subject scores from all of your ACT attempts (English, Math, Reading and Science).
  • Candidates must receive a passing score on each subtest (Reading, Writing and Math)
    • Those students who have an overall GPA of 2.75, have passed two Praxis Core subtests and are within 5 point of the passing score for the the third subtest may apply for TEP Alternate Admissions rather than retaking the third subtest.
  • Teacher candidates MUST be admitted (or alternatively admitted) to the Teacher Education Program by November 1 of their junior year
