Assistantships
As part of the application process, the Department of Mathematical Sciences offers graduate assistantships to qualified applicants in the doctoral programs. Assistantships are not typically offered to applicants in the M.S. programs. The application form can be downloaded here, and the completed form should be returned to the department. For more information, please contact either Randall McCutcheon, Coordinator of Graduate Studies (Mathematics), or E. Olúṣẹ́gun George, Coordinator of Graduate Studies (Statistics).
Screening of applications for a graduate assistantship starts mid-February and continues until all positions are filled. Top candidates will be awarded the Faudree Scholars in Math with an extra $5000/year besides the regular assistantships. In addition to graduate assistantships, eligible students are encouraged to apply for Work Study by completing their FAFSA form before the Spring deadline. For information on other fellowships offered at the University of Memphis, please see the University's list of graduate awards & fellowships.
