Memphis Law professor Jodi Wilson is the inaugural recipient of the Patricia and Dan Murrell Ethics and Professionalism Teaching Award. This award recognizes "the professor who most effectively incorporates creative and innovative methods for including ethics and professionalism into their teaching." Prof. Wilson's selection is based on the innovative and creative methods she has used not only in teaching Professional Responsibility, but also in teaching Legal Methods I and Legal Methods II.

Funded through the generosity of Mrs. Patricia Murrell and established in the memory of her late husband and our former colleague, Professor Dan Murrell, the Patricia and Dan Murrell Ethics and Professionalism Teaching Award will be formally presented to professor Wilson at the Class of 2018 commencement ceremony.

The Law School is very grateful to the Murrell Family for founding and funding this award. We appreciate their support and their confidence in us, and I know this new award will further the Murrell Family's goal of encouraging an even deeper investment by our Law School in teaching ethics and professionalism throughout our curriculum.
