Administrative Topics
Keri Brondo, Interim Associate Dean coordinates the College's research programs and serves as the College representative on the University Research Council. In this role, she focuses on external funding and research support, Chairs the Professional Development Assignment (PDA), Distinguished Research Award (CASDRA), Early Career Research Award (ECRA), Faculty Research Grant (FRG), and Instrumentation Grant committees. She also serves as the Dean's liaison to the natural sciences departments and handles enrollment management for those departments. Contact Information: |
Roger Kreuz, Associate Dean serves as the Dean's liaison to the social science departments in the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as to those interdisciplinary programs that are oriented toward the social sciences. He oversees the Governor's School and the International and Global Studies program. He also chairs the College's Graduate Curriculum Committee, and serves as the College representative on the University Graduate Council. Contact Information: Graduate Information |
Ladrica Menson-Furr has worked for the Dean's Office as an Assistant Dean for 2 years. She serves as the Chair of the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Curriculum Council and helps facilitate undergraduate curriculum changes through the curriculum process. She also serves on the University Undergraduate Council and is the Chair of the University's General Education Committee. Her home department is English and as such she serves as the liaison to the Humanities Departments and interdisciplinary programs such as Women and Gender Studies and AAAS. Jessica Abernathy, Director of Administration has responsibility for acting for and on behalf of the Dean serving as a liaison to the department chairs, division directors, administrative personnel, Board of Advisors members, students, etc. She also oversees College faculty and staff recruitment, and provides the Dean with information about pertinent laws, regulations and rules. She coordinates the College's Tenure and Promotion process each year and conducts special research projects for the Dean. Contact Information: Administration Links & Information
Iesha Williams, Administrative Associate I has responsibility for scheduling meetings between the dean and various faculty, chairs and students. This position orders supplies for the office, helps in planning events for the college and works on updating award forms and the college websites. Generates all work orders for telephone service, general maintenance, alarm systems, computer problems, etc. Maintains key inventory for the building. Assists associate deans in all award processes and is in charge of ordering all awards. Contact Information: Stormey Warren, Administrative Associate II assists the associate deans and faculty in graduate and undergraduate curriculum including preparing course revisions, new courses, and catalog changes to be presented to the CAS curriculum councils. Manages and approves Graduate student paperwork including requests for late adds/withdrawals and overloads. Assists faculty/departments with the submission of applications for Graduate Faculty status. Contact Information: CAS STUDENT EMPLOYEES Katherine Pointer assists the Pre-Professional Advising department with Pre-Law tasks. The duties and responsibilities includes, but are not limited to opening and closing the office (depending on shift); covering front desk; including directing visitors and answering the phones; attending Pre Law student organization meetings and help to cultivate a new student group; serving as CAS Pre-Law student ambassador which requires attending various events such as NSO, Junior Preview Day, etc.; completing research projects and tasks for the department and Deans staff at large. Katherine Pointer – Pre-Law Student Worker Charles Owens supports CAS Dean’s office in opening and closing the office (depending on shift), covering the front desk; including directing visitors and answering the phones, checking mailbox, and distributing mail, assisting with setting up/cleaning up CAS Events, maintaining organization in the Scates Hall front office, filling the front office copy machine and printer, inventorying and organizing the supply closet, running errands and other duties as assigned. Charles Owens – CAS Student Worker Aniya Latrice Tucker is the Social Media and Website Liaison for the CAS. Responsibilities of the position include making 2-4 daily posts on the college Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms, and making updates to the main college website, E-Files Newsletter, Accolades and several department websites, and other duties as assigned. Latica Jones, Business Officer III has responsibility for administering all issues related to Research Administration and University of Memphis Foundation accounts including, Proposal Summary forms, Advance Account forms, Incentive Pay, Foundation Reimbursement forms and training. Responsibilities includes managing budgets for the CAS Travel Enrichment and College Professorships. She is also the Dean's official designee in authorizing financial transactions on behalf of the College. Carolyn Dickens, Senior Director of Development provides guidance to the Dean regarding opportunities that enhance and grow the financial resources of the College. Working closely with the Dean and Advisory Board, the Director focuses on providing College alumni and friends with the opportunity to connect with and support the College, its students, and its faculty through establishing scholarships, assistantships, and community partnerships. Rika Hood is the Director of Undergraduate Student Services and has the responsibility for overseeing undergraduate advising, recruitment, and graduation efforts. Each department in the college has specified advisors for their undergraduate majors, and the director provides training, resources, and assessment of the advising of each area. The director works with the graduation analysts to provide information to students and advisors in preparation for and certification of graduation. His responsibilities include advising students interested in health science careers, assisting with applications to health related professional schools, creating/maintaining programs and services that provide pre-health students with in-depth information about professional school admissions requirements and opportunities to interact with professional school admissions officials and practicing professionals. Contact Information: Meghan Cullen, Pre-Professional Advisor is responsible for advising students interested in careers in the healthcare and law and for assisting these students with their applications to professional school. The Pre-Professional Advisor is responsible for creating and maintaining programs and services that provide pre-health and pre-law students with in-depth information about professional school admissions requirements and an opportunity to interact with professional school admissions officials and practicing professionals. Kimberly Brown is the CAS Career Specialist for Social Sciences with a wealth of experience in Non-Profit, Education and Human Resources. She is responsible for preparing and equipping students for a successful transition from college to career. Kimberly is an alum of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education & Training.
